Carlsbad, CA (May 11, 2021) – In September, 2020 the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce launched its second Rising Star of the Month program. Throughout the school year, nearly 30 high school seniors from four different high schools were recognized for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school and community activities and/or the ability to overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education. Those students were eligible to apply for the Rising Star of the Year $1,500 scholarships. The winners of the 2020-21 Rising Star of the Year scholarships are:
Bella Niems – Sage Creek High School
Bennett Hochner – Sage Creek High School
Carter Blom – Sage Creek High School
Kameron Zablan – Sage Creek High School
Nolan Mejia – Sage Creek High School
Ismael Vera – Carlsbad High School
Karen Antonio – Carlsbad High School
Aiko Lozar – Carlsbad High School
Chiara Frank – La Costa Canyon High School
