Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce awards $15,000 in scholarships.
Carlsbad, CA (May 9, 2023) – In September 2022 the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce launched its fourth Rising Star of the Month program. Throughout the school year over 30 high school seniors from six different high schools were recognized for demonstrating character, integrity, love of learning, involvement in school and community activities and/or the ability to overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education. Those students were eligible to apply for the Rising Star of the Year $1,500 scholarships. The winners of the 2022-23 Rising Star of the Year scholarships are:
• Ava R. Grosely – Carlsbad High School
• Carleigh Lyon – Carlsbad High School
• Curt White – Carlsbad High School
• Riley Goueth – Sage Creek High School
• Diana Salazar – Sage Creek High School
• Shane Baum – La Costa Canyon High School
• Madison Desjardins – La Costa Canyon High School
• Drea McIver-Fiorica – La Costa Canyon High School
• Louisa Cliff – Carlsbad Seaside Academy
• Hope Hansen – Pacific Ridge
These ten students will be honored on May 16, 2023, at 8:00 at a breakfast hosted at the Holiday Inn, Carlsbad. Community members are welcome to attend, cost is $35.00/person. Click here to register.
