The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce opposed a proposed county ordinance that would have placed onerous wage and benefit requirements on any business that leased county property. We have MANY businesses that leased county property all around the airport, including multiple office complexes and retail centers (including the Lowes center on the corner of El Camino and Palomar Airport Rd.). The version of the ordinance that passed only affects construction projects on county land that are over $1M in cost. This is a huge win for our businesses.
