The Historical Society was established in 1975 to preserve, promote, and enhance knowledge of the surrounding area’s history, significant landmarks, institutions, and memorabilia. This non-profit organization is also dedicated to reaching out to the community through educational and social events. The museum and archives, and its nationally-registered Rose Garden are located in the Shipley-Magee House at 258 Beech Avenue.
