Carlsbad Village Faire Shopping Center Rises To The Challenge

2020 has not been completely kind to the Village Faire Shopping Center. It started hopeful with an extensive courtyard and fountain remodel that ended up lasting eight weeks. The new turf, fountain, landscaping, and lighting was unveiled (photo above) the first week in March to much fanfare. The two-day celebration was supposed to be the beginning of a beautiful Spring. One week later nearly all tenants were forced to shut down their businesses due to the health pandemic. A week later, an electrical fire broke out damaging several suites and displacing a brand new tenant whose doors literally opened for the first time the week before (Wysh Boutique). Also displaced was Linda’s Gift, a staple in the Village for years. In speaking with Linda this weekend, we learned that she is temporarily operating out of Suite 206, on the second floor, and that her greeting card supplies are fully stocked for graduation and Father’s Day. She’s concerned that after all these years her customers who have come to rely on her won’t find her. So, as you welcome back the small businesses that are finally able to open their doors for business, please visit the Village Faire Shopping Center (300 Carlsbad Village Drive) and give their stores and restaurants the hope they were looking for that first weekend in March.
