I’ve been wanting to give you more behind-the-scenes glimpses into city staff carrying out the wide range of day-to-day services in Carlsbad. Today, I’ve got three videos that show staff’s versatility. I’ll explain more about each project in this week’s update, but if you want to get right to the clips, here they are:

A milestone moment in the project to upgrade the Alga Norte Aquatic Center
A first look at the new coastal art exhibit launching tomorrow at the Cannon Art Gallery
A timelapse of the first of two “scramble” intersections getting repainted in the Village

Also this week, I have the dates to keep in mind for connecting with the community through the arts, athletics and classes. After all, community character and connectedness is a key goal of the City Council’s 5-Year Strategic Plan.

Here’s this week’s full lineup:

Registration opens for spring camps and classes
Alga Norte Aquatic Center project reaches a milestone
Coastal exhibit opens at Cannon Art Gallery
Museum month: Archaeological wonders discovered in Carlsbad
Scramble intersections getting refreshed
Plan ahead to avoid traffic
Improvements on three I-5 overpasses
Apply to serve on a city commission
Community events and activities
