Carlsbad-based LIGHT Helmets, known for producing innovative lightweight football helmets, has entered the NFL with its latest design, the GLADIATOR. The NFL has been searching for better player protection, and LIGHT Helmets aims to address this. The GLADIATOR passed rigorous NFL-NFL Players Association testing and received the NFL-NFLPA “Recommended Helmet” for the 2023 season. LIGHT Helmets’ designs are notably lighter than traditional helmets, reducing head momentum, force on impact, and stress on the neck, while enhancing shoulder and upper spine protection. The company is also exploring the construction helmet market and plans to expand significantly with a $10 million Series A funding round.
