City of San Marcos is Taking Applications for the Palomar Airport Advisory Committee

The City of San Marcos is accepting applications for the Palomar Airport Advisory Committee (PAAC) for consideration of appointment by District 5 Supervisor Jim Desmond.

Applications are due to the San Marcos City Clerk by Friday, February 15 at 5 p.m. in order to be presented to the City Council for consideration at the February 26th City Council Meeting.

Applications must also be submitted to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors by Friday, February 15 at 5 p.m.

Applications ARE REQUIRED to be submitted to both the city at cityclerk@san-marcos.net and the county at bcc@sdcounty.ca.gov

The Committee shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
•To review and make recommendations on issues pertaining to noise control at Palomar Airport.
•To review and make recommendations regarding land use within the Airport influence area.
•To review and make recommendations regarding issues pertaining to the development and operations of Palomar Airport.
•To provide an open forum between the Communities and the County on matters pertaining to Palomar Airport.
•Any other items as may be assigned to the Committee by the Board of Supervisors.

Meetings are held the third Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive Carlsbad, CA 92008

Each member of the Committee shall serve a term which shall run concurrently with the term of the Supervisor who nominated them to the Committee. The term shall expire on the date of expiration of the term of the nominating Supervisor, or at such time as he or she ceases to hold office, whichever first occurs.

Members of the Committee shall serve without compensation and shall not be reimbursed for expenses incurred in performing their duties under this Article.
