About the Artists
Krista Timberlake
Krista is originally from Western Massachusetts, where she grew up in a family and community of artists and craftspeople and developed a love of nature and the outdoors. After attending UVM for pre-med and Savannah College of Art & Design, she earned her BFA in painting from UMASS, Amherst. Bicycling for more than 30 years has created a love and addiction that has contributed many ideas and themes to her art. As an avid cyclist, yogini, hiker, weightlifter, fitness enthusiast and former pre-med student, she has a great appreciation for the body as a machine. Artistically, she finds beauty in well-crafted machinery and likes melding mechanical elements with living things. In creating mechanical and more naturalistic pieces, she is inspired by line, texture and color, and is most drawn to using watercolor. She finds that the most interesting things happen in her work when “mistakes” occur, unplanned paint reactions that will never be able to be duplicated. She has a great appreciation for humor and enjoys incorporating whimsical elements into much of her work. Krista currently lives in Vista, works as the Entertainment Designer at The Upper Deck Company, and freelances as a graphic designer.

Richard Timberlake

Richard started photography as a hobby many years ago and through the encouragement of family and friends, decided to put his work ‘out there.’ His work has been displayed at the Blue Mug coffee shop in Escondido, Salon 56 in San Diego, the Vista Chamber of Commerce, and now at the Vista Civic Art Gallery. His prints have been featured at the 2012 San Diego and Orange County Fairs. Richard was born and raised in Wisconsin but has been in the San Diego area for 19 years. He enjoys hiking and exploring and often takes advantage of the splendor that different areas have to offer.
