Carlsbad, CA — Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) is proud to announce a significant milestone in the launch of its Solar Plus program: three battery storage systems have been installed at homes in Vista, Carlsbad and Oceanside. This installation marks a crucial step in expanding green energy access, delivering reliable, sustainable power to CEA’s residential customers.

“The Solar Plus program almost seemed too good to be true!” said Vista resident Jennifer Brown. “I recently moved to the community, and was hoping to install a solar system — it was easy to get up and running with Solar Plus.”

The Solar Plus program, launched in collaboration with Tesla and Participate.Energy, offers CEA customers the opportunity to install rooftop solar and battery storage systems with zero upfront costs. The systems allow members to power their homes with renewable energy, maintain emergency backup power, enjoy long-term rate stability and contribute to a more sustainable community.

Key features of the program include:
• Zero Upfront Costs: Participants can install solar systems and Tesla Powerwall batteries without financial barriers.
• Emergency Backup Power: The Tesla Powerwall provides backup energy during blackouts or Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events.
• Cost-Competitive Rates: The program offsets transmission and delivery charges, leading to significant savings.
• Rate Stability: Locked-in long-term rates offer financial predictability for households.

“Our installations showcase the exciting potential of the Solar Plus program,” said CEA Board Vice Chair Katie Melendez. “This is a huge step toward making clean, affordable energy accessible to all residents, enhancing both individual energy independence and the overall reliability of the local grid.”

CEA looks forward to rolling out Solar Plus installations across member cities in the coming months. This program is a part of CEA’s broader mission to provide clean, reliable and affordable energy to the communities it serves.
