Coastal Academy recently received the National School of Character Award in Washington DC. Coastal Academy was the only school in California to receive this prestigious recognition from Character.org, an organization founded on the framework of utilizing and implementing character education in schools. Character.org evaluates and certifies character initiatives throughout the national, state, and district level in a rigorous application and review process. Schools must demonstrate successful implementation of proper character education for the entire school community. Coastal Academy’s recognized success by Character.org illustrates it as a best practice for character education.
