San Diego, CA (July 24, 2024) – San Diegans will soon have an opportunity to share their ideas for a more prosperous San Diego in 2030. The San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP) today announced a series of 11 Community Feedback Forums to be held at locations around the County, inviting community members to participate in dynamic discussions to shape the future of San Diego’s workforce.
These forums are a crucial part of SDWP’s Strategic Vision 2030 Plan. The SDWP aims to gather feedback from San Diegans across all industry sectors and communities to guide their strategic planning for enhancing programs and services offered to job seekers, businesses, and students.
“Our goal is to ensure every individual in San Diego has the opportunity to succeed,” said Tony Young, Interim President and CEO of the SDWP. “By participating in these forums, community members can directly influence the development of services and programs that will shape our region’s economic future. Your insights are invaluable as we work towards creating a more inclusive and prosperous workforce.”
This announcement comes on the heels of significant milestones for the SDWP announced in July 2024. In the last 12 months, the organization increased job seeker enrollment by over 20% and secured more than $10 million in grant funding to expand services for the dynamic needs of local employers and job seekers. These services include the recently announced $1.8 million in federal funding secured to bolster the Opportunity Young Adult Career Pathway Program and the expansion of the Substance Use Counselor Training Program.
