SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The RV/NR Cal State San Marcos women’s basketball team collected its first California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series sweep of the season with a 74-51 victory over Cal State San Bernardino on Thursday night in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED •The Cougars held CSUSB to five points in the opening quarter, the lowest by a CSUSM opponent this season.
•CSUSM capped its longest run of the game of 12-0 with a layup by Emma Forel at the 7:14 mark of the second quarter.
•The Cougars took a 37-21 advantage over the Coyotes into the locker room after 20 minutes.
•Forel snagged her fifth double-double game, and fourth consecutive, in the third quarter as CSUSM took a 60-33 lead into the final 10 minutes.
•CSUSM’s largest lead of the game was 34 points (74-40) at the 3:16 mark.
•The Coyotes ended the game with an 11-0 run.
FAST BREAKS •CSUSM moved up to 13-3 (8-3 CCAA) while the Coyotes dropped to 1-13 (1-10 CCAA).
•Vermillion also notched a double-double, her sixth of the season.
•This marks the second consecutive game that Vermillion and Forel both recorded double-doubles in scoring and rebounding.
•Thursday’s win is CSUSM’s first over CSUSB in The Sports Center.
•The Cougars hold a 5-3 lead in the all-time series against the Coyotes.
•CSUSM’s 63-56 win at CSUSB on Dec. 21 moved the Cougars to a 3-0 record over the Coyotes on the road.
•The Cougars shot a season-best 52.8% (28-of-53) from the field.
•Hackson tied her second-highest point total of the season with 19 points as she registered a season-high 20 points at UC San Diego on Nov. 21.
