On 06/04/22, at 11:44 am, Officers responded to a medical aid at Bush St. & Archer St. The reporting party advised their friend was having a panic attack and was having difficulty breathing. Officers arrived and located a 22-year-old female who was not breathing. Officers provided medical aid until Medics arrived and transported her to Tri-City Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. While at the scene, officers noticed the victim had actually sustained a single gunshot wound to her upper body.
Crimes of Violence Detectives responded and soon learned that the victim and her male friends were driving in a vehicle and were involved in an argument with an unknown male pedestrian. As the vehicle drove off, the unknown male shot at the vehicle. One round penetrated the rear of the vehicle and struck the victim. The name of the victim has not been released pending family notification.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, 20-30 years of age, bald, 5’10” – 6’0” tall with a stocky build.
