SAN MARCOS, Calif. – As the holiday season approaches, the Cal State San Marcos Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) wanted to spread cheer by delivering more than 300 toys the student-athletes collected to the Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos on Thursday.

Arman Rahgozar, a sophomore on the CSUSM men’s golf team, enjoyed the opportunity to give back to the children’s club. “It was great to see the joy that we were able to bring the kids. It showed the impact of what we as student-athletes have on our community.”

After delivering all the toys, the CSUSM student-athletes played games such as air hockey, foosball, bumper pool and giant connect four with the children.

Next on the CSUSM SAAC agenda is the annual CCAA Food Drive, which will take place Feb. 5-11.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is made of representatives from all 13 programs, serving as the voice of all CSUSM Athletics student-athletes. The mission of the CSUSM Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to improve the student-athlete experience by promoting integrity, responsibility, leadership and sportsmanship. SAAC also strives to enhance the student-athlete image on campus and in the community. SAAC places a strong emphasis on building character through community service and promoting spirit for Cougar Athletics.
