SAN MARCOS, Calif. – In its final non-conference game, the Cal State San Marcos men’s basketball team fell 84-79 to Azusa Pacific on Wednesday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED •CSUSM went into halftime with a 39-34 deficit to APU despite winning the field-goal percentage battle at 41.7 percent to 41.4 percent.
•Fuller had a game-high 11 points with a team-high six rebounds after 20 minutes of play.
•APU led for just over 15 minutes of the first half as its largest lead came at 23-14.
•APU went 7-of-15 (46.7%) from three in the first period.
•CSUSM had its largest deficit of the game at 17 points with 12:35 remaining in the game.
•Down 61-44, CSUSM went on a 27-10 run to knot the game at 71-all with 2:41 left in regulation.
•After CSUSM tied the game for the final time at 73-all, APU closed out the game on a 10-3 run to earn the victory.
FAST BREAKS •Fuller’s career-high 32 points tied for the 10th most in a single game in program history as he also notched his second double-double of the season.
•Elliott posted his second double-double of the season with 13 points and and a season-high 11 rebounds.
•Sloan tied his season high for points with 11 as he brought down a season-best seven rebounds.
•CSUSM’s 31 made field goals were its most of the season.
•This was the second consecutive game and third overall in which CSUSM had four players in double figures.
•CSUSM ended the game shooting 44.9 percent (31-of-69) while APU came in at 43.9 percent (25-of-57).
•CSUSM had the advantage in rebounds (39-34), steals (7-6) and fewer turnovers (15-14).
•CSUSM beat out APU on the offensive boards by a 15-8 margin.
•Of APU’s 25 baskets, 18 were accompanied by an assist.
•APU’s Mandrell Worth led the team with 23 points.
