Dog Haus Restaurant is Open This Week Under New Ownership

Soft Opening on Wednesday, December 27th

Finishing touches were being completed in the Dog Haus Restaurant as owner Dylan Pathirana discussed the re-opening of this popular eatery located in Downtown Historic Vista. Dylan owns two Dog Haus Restaurants in the Los Angeles area and is looking into acquiring an additional Dog Haus in San Diego. The first Dog Haus opened in Pasadena in 2010. A “Soft Opening” is in the plans for the Vista location, 227 E. Broadway, Wednesday, December 27th, to allow employees to work through the cinques of re-opening and to allow those attending to enjoy some of the great selections offered. Dog Haus will open at 8:30 am for the soft opening and breakfast burritos will be ready along with all of the other menu items.

Dog Haus is known for their delicious “hormone and antibiotic-free Black Angus beef from Creekstone Farms” which is used to produce their “Gourmet Dogs, Sausages, and Burgers”. Along with this the restaurant also makes several Haus Chicken sandwiches. All of the dogs are served on King’s Hawaiian Rolls. There are 7 Haus Dogs to choose from. Some of the selections include the Sooo Cali with wild arugula, avocado, crispy onions, spicy basil and aioli; the Old Town with smoked bacon, caramelized onions, chipotle aioli, pickled jalapenos and cotija cheese; the Chili the Kid with white American cheese, Haus Chili, crispy onions and chipotle aioli; and the Corn Dog with Haus made root beer batter. You can also do a sausage swap substituting the Haus Dog with a gourmet sausage. For those wanting a Haus Sausage there are 8 to choose from. Some of these selections include The Fonz with spicy Italian, pastrami and mozzarella cheese; Reservoir Hog with a Polish kielbasa, Haus Chili, Haus Slaw and yellow mustard; the Beyond Brat with beyond sausage Bratwurst, sauerkraut, caramelized onions and spicy brown mustard; and T-Mex with beef chorizo & pepper jack sausage, avocado, chipotle aioli, Haus Slaw, pickled jalapenos and peppers.

One favorite for many eating at a Dog Haus Restaurant is a Haus Burger. There are 8 ways to order your burger. Some of these include The Ringer including cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, onion rings and Haus BBQ Sauce; Little Mule with white American cheese, avocado, pickled jalapenos, cotija cheese, fried egg and chipotle aioli; and Holy Aioli with white American cheese, smoked bacon, caramelized onions and garlic aioli. Cheeseburgers, making the burger a double, adding pastrami and an Impossible Patty are also available. The Dog Haus also has sliders, crispy chicken wings and tenders. The 2 Haus Chicken sandwiches are the Bad Mutha Clucka using crispy fried or grilled chicken tenders with lettuce, pickles and miso ranch sauce and The Hot Chick with Nashville style fried or grilled chicken tenders, Haus Slaw, pickles and secret sauce.

One new addition to the extensive menu being offered is the Haus Breakfast that will be offered each morning beginning at 8:30 am.

The Breakfast orders are in the form of 9 different large burritos. These will be the Bacon Burrito, Sausage Burrito, Little Mule Burrito, Hangover Burrito, The Fonz Burrito, Cajun Burrito, Impossible Haus Burrito, Impossible Cali Burrito and the Beyond Breakfast Burrito. Each burrito has 3 sunny side eggs in the burrito, white American cheese and a wide range of other offerings depending on the burrito ordered. One very unique new offering is the massive Bad Ass Breakfast Burrito that can only be ordered online with the Dog Haus App.

A number of sides are available such as fries or tots, chili of cheese fries or tots, Haus Slaw, Haus Chili, onion rings, sweet potato fries and a combination of these items. There are Kids Meals available with either sliders or chicken tenders. Fountain drinks, water, juice and 24 beers on tap are available. The beers on tap will include a number of local breweries and will change periodically. The large chalk board will have the list of beers on tap.

Dog Haus is still accepting applications and Dylan said they hope to staff around 20 full and part-time employees. Dog Haus will accept online ordering and accept orders from all of the various food delivery services. The restaurant will be open 7 days a week from 8:30 am until 10 pm. Dylan said the plan is to soon join the Vista Chamber of Commerce and have a Grand Opening at a later date. He also said if you happen to have a Dog Haus gift card, they will be working to reinstate your ability to use the gift cards in the restaurant.
