On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at approximately 10:40 PM, deputies from the Sheriff’s Vista Station responded to a single-vehicle collision in the 2100 block of East Vista Way in Vista.
A Dodge sedan, driven by Cruz Norberto Valentin (DOB: 4/20/1997), collided with an SDG&E power pole, causing it to fall into the traffic lanes. Valentin remained at the scene and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
There were no other vehicles, individuals, or injuries in connection with this incident. The Dodge sedan sustained significant damage.
East Vista Way was closed in both directions due to the downed power pole and lines. SDG&E crews responded to the scene for repairs. As of the time of this release, the road remains closed while repairs are underway.
The Sheriff’s Vista Station Traffic Unit is investigating the collision.
