Eclectic Lawn Returns to St. Michael’s by the Sea

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Eclectic Lawn is “A celebration of stylistic diversity . . . a seemingly endless appetite for aural adventure.”

Carlsbad Music Festival is bringing more live music to the seaside community this Fall with its Eclectic Lawn Concert on Saturday, October 9 from 2-6 p.m. on the lawn at St. Michael’s by the Sea (2775 Carlsbad Blvd., Carlsbad, CA 92008). Eclectic Lawn is a 1-day mini-festival featuring four performers of “adventurous music by the beach” – Shannon Lay, Francis Blume, The Ed Kornhauser Quartet and Kamini Natarajan. This concert’s diverse mix features three singers with stunning voices, but totally different approaches, as well as some of the best local contemporary instrumental jazz.

Additionally, this event will include food trucks and local craft beer. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 on the day of, $5 for kids 6-12, free for kids 5 and under. VIP tickets are also available. Learn more at CarlsbadMusicFestival.org.

2:00 p.m. Kamini Natarajan
The Indian classical singer brings to life the intricacies of Raga with her soulful voice.

3:00 p.m. The Ed Kornhauser Quartet
Fresh off their San Diego Music Awards “Best Jazz Album” win, the quartet will be playing a set of original compositions.

4:00 p.m. Francis Blume
The North County-based golden-voiced singer channels retro Americana.

5:00 p.m. Shannon Lay
An LA-based folk singer, her gorgeous recent release on Sub Pop Records, “Rare to Wake” was named “Best New Track” by Pitchfork.

*For COVID-19 safety, this event will be held entirely outdoors, and proof of vaccine or recent negative Covid test are required.
