The Oceanside community came together on April 2 to celebrate the grand opening of the new Student Wellness Center at El Camino High School. In partnership with Unite North County, Oceanside Unified School District proudly unveiled this dedicated space designed to support students’ mental health, emotional well-being, and overall wellness.
The event featured inspiring remarks from school and community leaders, including Jen Carlos, board member with Unite North County, who emphasized the power of collaboration in making this vision a reality.
“By working together, we’re ensuring that our students have access to the resources they need to thrive,” Carlos shared.
OUSD School Board Member Raquel Alvarez also expressed her excitement, saying, “My heart is so full knowing that we now have a space like this for all students—a place where they can find the support they need, when they need it. This center represents our commitment to their well-being and success.”
Attendees toured the center and learned more about the services available, including counseling, mindfulness programs, and peer support. Students now have a welcoming space where they can access essential wellness resources to help them succeed both academically and personally.
The opening of the Student Wellness Center marks a significant step in the district’s commitment to student well-being, reinforcing the belief that a healthy mind is key to a bright future.
