On August 13, six community volunteers spent four hours painting 23 fire hydrants in the community near Fire Station #3. This effort spruced up the neighborhoods, but they also found several leaky hydrants that were reported and scheduled for repairs. During the morning event, several residents in the neighborhood commended the volunteers for their work and community spirit. Volunteer fire hydrant painting events are held monthly and signing up is easy. The next event will be on September 18, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
