The crew of three Escondido firefighters staffing our OES Brush Patrol Engine as part of a regional strike team, returned home safely from the Oak Fire in Mariposa County on Tuesday, August 2.
Also, on August 2, Escondido Fire deployed OES Brush Engine 8334 with four firefighters as part of a North County Strike Team to the McKinney Fire in Siskiyou County.
On Friday, August 5, the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center received a report of an overturned boat at Lake Dixon. Firefighters arrived and assisted the Escondido Police Department and Park Rangers in rescuing the occupants of the vessel and escorting them to shore. All of the occupants were treated on scene and released.
