Every year the Escondido Police Department hosts an Annual Children’s Christmas Party to give kids who have been the victims of abuse, neglect, and violent crime a Christmas they might not otherwise get to experience.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people in our community have faced some extremely difficult hardships and challenges, making this year’s Children’s Christmas Party especially important. The Escondido Police Department is committed to continuing to help make this holiday season brighter for families and children in need. Although our Annual Children’s Christmas Party will have to be modified from the large scale events we have had in previous years, we have come up with a way to still provide toys, gifts, and other necessities to children who have been victims of crime, while still practicing social distancing and abiding by all public health orders. This year’s event will be a drive-thru style Christmas event, which will take place in early December.

We are asking for the community’s help to make this Christmas a little bit brighter for these kids by donating a new unwrapped toy for a boy or girl ages newborn to 18 years old. We are also in need of donations in the form of gift cards for the older children who will be attending the event. Some ideas/suggestions for the gift cards would be for coffee shops, department stores, and restaurants.

We appreciate the generosity and continued support we receive from the community every year for this event. We could not do this without your help.
