Escondido Police Update

Man Under the Influence
On October 13, officers responded to the industrial area of the City in response to a man standing on the roof of a business. The man, who is known to officers, had a knife in his possession and was acting aggressively towards police. The Emergency Negotiations Team was able to negotiate with the man he was arrested without further issues.

Reckless Paraglider
On October 10, Escondido Park Rangers called in to report that a paraglider was flying suspiciously low over Dixon Lake and the Water Treatment Plant. When officers arrived, the glider was circling the area and skimming the water. A sergeant was able to position himself so that the pilot realized he should leave the area. The sergeant followed the glider to Ryan Park, where he landed on the soccer field. The incident was reported to the FAA.
