ESCONDIDO —The city will be awash in art, culture and creativity in April as part of a new endeavor by the city to showcase its art scene.
The inaugural Arts, Culture and Creativity Month (ACCM) kicks off on April 1 from 2:30-6 p.m. at Heritage Gardens at the Escondido Farmer’s Market and features a live painting competition, free art activities, vendors and more. The rest of the month features weeklong events at the Photographer’s Eye, along with events hosted by the Escondido Arts Partnership and others.
There will also be concerts, mural walks and a mayor’s competition with select winners being showcased at City Hall, Escondido Mayor Dane White said on social media. Other attractions will also be highlighted such as Queen Califa’s Magical Circle sculpture garden by Niki de Saint Phalle at Kit Carson Park.

Also, the schedule is not set as organizers are still open to solicitations for events or programming, said Carol Rogers, one of the organizers of ACCM.
“We want people to come to Escondido who’ve never been here before and experience our arts and culture community,” she added. “It’s one of the reasons we’re offering a lot of free events and trying to have a number of events on any given day or weekend so you can come and spend the day.”
