ESCONDIDO – The Escondido Union School District (EUSD) continues to make great strides when it comes to universal student achievement, safe and modern facilities, and positive school environments.
That’s the message Dr. Luis Rankins-Ibarra, superintendent of the K-8 district, is set to deliver in the third annual State of the District Address, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, 340 N. Escondido Blvd., Escondido 92025.
In a wide-ranging presentation, Dr. Rankins-Ibarra will share EUSD’s progress and achievements in numerous areas over the past year, as well as highlight the many community partnerships that continue to support the education of Escondido’s elementary and middle school students.
The district’s Public Champion Award also will be presented during the event, with this year’s honor going to the Friends of Daley Ranch.
The community will learn about how the district is continually working to fulfill the Board of Education’s focus goals related to student achievement, positive school culture, safe and secure environments, and fiscal solvency. The presentation also will highlight the district’s exciting community programs and partnerships, as well as the collective work of our facilities bond program.
“The State of the District Address is an important opportunity to share our commitment to universal achievement and equity for each and every student,” Dr. Rankins-Ibarra said.
“It is an excellent time to remind our families, employees, and community members of all that we have accomplished for the children of Escondido, as well as of the vital work still to come.”
EUSD is the sixth-largest elementary school district in California, serving more than 15,800 students. With 1,900 employees and an operating budget of more than $200 million, EUSD is the second-largest employer in the city of Escondido.
In partnership with children, employees, parents, and community members, EUSD is committed to actualizing the unlimited potential of every learner at each of its 23 schools though high-quality, rigorous instruction, a safe and secure environment, fiscal responsibility, and a collaborative and diverse culture that promotes creativity, responsibility, and trust among all stakeholders.
