On July 17, firefighters were dispatched to W. Valley Parkway and Auto Parkway for a possible gas leak. Construction workers had struck a gas line while digging. Workers quickly evacuated the immediate area, with no reports of illness. Fire crews arrived and began air monitoring in the area to ensure gas was not accumulating. SDG&E were notified to assist, and ultimately secured the gas line within 20 minutes.

Task Force 8334 was deployed from July 17 – 19 to Kern County’s, “White Fire” to assist. From
the look of the photos, it kept them busy. We are happy to have them back safe and sound.

On July 18, fire crews from Station 4 were dispatched to a commercial structure fire in Ramona. The structure was one of many used for egg production. Firefighters were on scene for several hours in order to contain the fire and save nearby structures.

On July 19, fire crews were dispatched to reports of a structure fire on Moody Drive. The first arriving Engine Company reported a detached residential garage fully engulfed with fire.
Aggressive action prevented extension to the nearby home, and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the building of origin and a small living area above the garage in less than 30 minutes. Crews remained on scene for approximately 2 hours preforming salvage and overhaul. There were no injuries to civilians or Firefighters during the incident and the homeowners were able to continue to occupy their home. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
