Student Day Out
On March 15, Fire crews at Station 4 had the pleasure
of hosting a small group of Spanish speaking students between kindergarten and third grade, from the local Montessori school. A big thank you to EMT Alejandro Nieto, from Station 1, for joining the tour and assisting with Spanish fire safety terms. Engineer Aubele, FF/PM Kenny and Kettle also joined in the fun, so a big thank you too for spending time with the group.

Vehicle Accident
On March 16, Fire crews were dispatched to 488 E. Valley Parkway for reports of a vehicle into a structure. The first arriving firefighters discovered a single vehicle struck a large metal column in front of the medical office. In all, two people were involved in
the accident. The passenger was out of the vehicle when crews arrived, and the driver was trapped inside. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to peel away layers of the car to free the driver. After 30 minutes of a very complicated rescue, the driver was out of the car, and both patients were transported to Palomar Medical Center. The building suffered damage to the exterior only. Escondido Police are investigating this incident.
