On Sunday, September 24, 2023, at approximately 5:27 pm Oceanside Police responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision at Oceanside Boulevard just West of Vine Street. The driver, the solo occupant, was entrapped in the vehicle and unresponsive. Oceanside Fire Department personnel worked to extricate the driver. Despite valiant efforts from first responders, the twenty- one-year-old male resident of Camp Pendleton was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased’s name is withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver was traveling Westbound on Oceanside Boulevard, passing Vine Street when he lost control of his Ford F-150 and a roll-over occurred. The vehicle came to a rest upside down. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.
