On 11/28/2020, at about 11:49 AM, a male cyclist was struck by a vehicle as the vehicle driver navigated a right turn from westbound Leucadia Boulevard to Moonstone Court in the city of Encinitas. The vehicle and driver remained at the collision. Bystanders rendered medical aid to the injured cyclist. The injured cyclist was transported by ambulance to Scripps La Jolla where he succumbed to his injuries. Alcohol isn’t a factor in the collision. Deputies with the Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating.
