Fatal Traffic Collision in Oceanside

Oceanside, CA – On Saturday January 02, 2021, at 0025 hours, the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a serious injury traffic collision involving two vehicles within the intersection of Oceanside Blvd/College Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located one of the involved drivers still sitting in their vehicle. At that time, the 30 year old male was unconscious. Despite life saving measures, the male was declared deceased on scene. The driver of the second involved vehicle, 27 year old male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was traveling southbound on College Blvd. and was traveling through the intersection of Oceanside Blvd. when he was broadsided by the other involved party that was traveling eastbound on Oceanside Blvd. The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating this collision. Alcohol does appear to be a factor in this
collision. The decedent’s name is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call Accident Investigator Clint Bussey at (760)435-4412.
