A man is under arrest on multiple weapon and drug charges after leading deputies on a short pursuit through Vista.
It happened on Saturday, May 22 just after 2:00 a.m. Deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station were trying to conduct a traffic stop for a possible impaired driver on Mercantile Street.
The driver, later identified as Jeremy Brink (DOB: 12/12/1989), a known firearms and narcotics offender in Vista. He failed to pull over for deputies and led them a brief pursuit to his home on Astro Court. Brink parked his truck in his driveway, locked the doors and yelled for his parents. He has done this at least two times in the past. Brink has a history of carrying concealed home-built firearms and is a convicted felon.
Once deputies were able to get Brink to exit his truck, a search revealed a loaded 40 caliber unserialized Glock-style pistol and methamphetamine. Sheriff’s Investigators were contacted and responded. A search warrant was sought and obtained for Brink’s home.
A search of the home and associated vehicles revealed a loaded 12 gauge shotgun, a loaded and unregistered 1911 pistol, suspected fentanyl, body armor, large quantities of ammunition reloading components and equipment, tools and equipment used to manufacture unserialized firearms, parts to construct suppressors/silencers and loaded factory ammunition.
Brink was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on multiple felony charges. Bail has been set at $250,000.
