First Friday Art Walk Oceanside comes alive in downtown Oceanside with art, performances, music, poetry, activities, food and fun for all ages on Friday, July 6th from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
“It all starts at the Oceanside Museum of Art with free admission to the FOCUS ON FOKOS exhibition. After touring the exhibition David Fokos: The Book Pages Project, you can pay homage to real books with covers, pulpy paper, yellowing pages and dog-eared corners. We will also be debuting our first Fashion Show in Artist Alley at 7:00pm with Rasta fashions from Earth Culture Roots, who specializes in all things from the Islands,” says Susan Brown, president of the Oceanside Friends of the Arts.
Brooks Theatre will also feature Art Walk Artists and the Steelin’ Tin Band to promote their upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz presented by OTC-Summer Youth Academy, July 13th – 15th.
In addition to the more than 40 artists in 15 venues throughout downtown Oceanside, some of the featured attractions this month include the following:
• The Venture Rock Band at Beach Hut Deli
• Guitarist/Singer Dalton Gazette will perform at Holme Estate Cellars
• The Ryan Dart Trio will perform from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Regal Plaza
• Honey wine/mead tasting from Golden Coast Mead at Century 21
• New venue at Ty’s Burgers on Mission Avenue
• Whitlock Ink celebrating their 18-year anniversary with artwork, live music and surf mayhem
• Oceanside Art Gallery will showcase fine art from Blake Kern, Josephine Coyle and Joe & Mary Villela.
• Oceanside Public Library will host musician’s UFO Ukulele Friends Ohana
• Jose Aponte will be exhibiting his art at the Oceanside Public Library

The Oceanside Friends of the Arts was established in 2016 with the goal of establishing Oceanside and surrounding communities as an important arts, culture, entertainment and tourism hub/destination that catalyzes economic prosperity and a high quality of life for Oceanside’s future.
