First Friday Art Walk Oceanside will be held at Artist Alley in downtown Oceanside on Friday, June 7th from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
“More than 50 local artists, food vendors and musicians will be on hand for First Friday Art Walk in our Artist Alley venue and this month features a special tie-in with the Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA),” says Susan Brown, president of the Oceanside Friends of the Arts. The evening starts off at OMA with the 3rd work-in-progress showing for Alyssa Junious of Continuum, who has been creating an original dance performance based around the exhibition VALYA: SHE. Working with professional dancers from the community, Alyssa’s choreography and movement create a conversation between the installation, the dancers and the community. Alyssa solicits feedback from the community in a variety of ways at each of these events. After that, the night continues with The Routine, a 4-piece funk, soul, and rock n’ roll band that has been tearing up stages throughout the West Coast since 2013, The Routine provides an unforgettable performance that is not to be missed. The music starts and cash bar opens at 7pm. Galleries close at 8.
Also in conjunction with Art Walk, the Oceanside Museum of Art will be offering free admissions to explore OMA exhibitions.
