Free First Wednesday Concert Showcases Award-Winning Opera Singer!

Escondido, CA – March 9, 2020 – Experience the power of performance with our First Wednesdays concert series, a free community event that happens the first Wednesday of every month from October through May, (excluding January).

This season, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido is proud to be partnering up with The Barn Stage Company to showcase a variety of performers to Escondido.

For the month of April, we will present, First Wednesdays: Jacquelynne Fontaine, Soprano on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, starting at 6 pm.

Jacquelynne Fontaine has performed nationally and internationally in both opera and musical theater.

Some of her favorite operatic roles include Violetta in La Traviata (Tacoma Opera, Rogue Opera), Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Pamina in The Magic Flute (both at Tuscia Operafestival, Italy), Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro (Rogue Opera).

In the musical theatre world, audiences may remember her as the diva Carlotta, a role which she played over one thousand times in the National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera.

Jacquelynne Fontaine will perform a selection of classical pieces from opera, art song, and classic musical theatre. She’s joined by a renowned pianist from the LA Opera, Daniel Faltus.

Tickets to the show are FREE and are handed out on a first-come, first-seated basis as you enter the venue. Doors open one hour prior to show time, and this year’s shows will be held in the Center’s Concert Hall starting at 6 pm.

If you’d like to beat the line, reserved seats are also available for $12 ($10 for Center Members) and can be purchased below. Reserved seats must be purchased a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
