As Black History Month approaches, I’m pleased to share that Frontwave Arena, Oceanside’s premier gateway to world-class sports and entertainment, is hosting its inaugural NBA G League San Diego Clippers Black History Night on Saturday, February 8. This special evening combines an exciting San Diego Clippers v. South Bay Lakers matchup with a vibrant celebration of Black culture and history.
Before tip-off, guests will have the opportunity to connect with local leaders and professionals and engage in meaningful conversation at the Pregame Networking Panel. Throughout the game, enjoy powerful Black cultural dance performances that bring energy and tradition to the court. Guests can also explore interactive booths in the San Diego Zoo Safari Park Plaza, hosted by local organizations, including the NAACP – North County and the North County African American Women’s Association. Adding to the excitement, fans may get the chance to see Bronny James, son of LeBron James and rising star with the Lakers, take the court during his extended G League run!
This night is more than a game, it’s a celebration of Black heritage and talent, and a chance to foster the community and create lasting memories. Tickets are on sale now at AXS; doors open at 6pm and the game starts at 7pm.
