Future Educators Academy Launches at North County Trade Tech High School in Partnership with Children’s Paradise Preschool and Infant Centers

Vista, CA – North County Trade Tech High School, a tuition-free public charter high school, and Children’s Paradise, an early childhood education (ECE) provider with several high-quality centers in San Diego, have forged a partnership in the development and implementation of the Future Educators Academy. Future Educators Academy is a career pathway program that allows students attending North County Trade Tech High School to jumpstart a career in early childhood education while still in high school.

The Future Educators Academy kicks off on August 13, 2024, with the first day of school. High school-aged students in Vista are encouraged to apply for entry or transfer into this innovative program now. With only 60 spots available and spaces filling up quickly, early application is highly recommended.

“We are excited to offer this unique opportunity for our students,” said Doreen Quinn, Chief Executive Officer of North County Trade Tech High School. “The Future Educators Academy provides a valuable pathway for high school students to gain essential skills and hands-on experience in early childhood education. This program aligns perfectly with our mission to equip students with practical knowledge and career-ready competencies, allowing them to enter the workforce with confidence upon graduation. We look forward to seeing our students thrive and make meaningful contributions to the education sector.”

Students enrolled in the Future Educators Academy earn their high school diploma through a combination of general education courses and focused child development studies. Designed by Children’s Paradise, students will attend classes in a state-of-the-art learning lab dedicated to child development. The Future Educators Academy learning lab is an exact simulation of preschool classrooms at Children’s Paradise centers. Each class features multiple learning centers focused on math, science, language, dramatic play, and other essential early child development areas. Students will also gain hands-on experience through internships at Children’s Paradise.

Julie Lowen, CEO of Children’s Paradise, added, “We are thrilled to collaborate with North County Trade Tech High School to offer this innovative program. By providing students with practical experience in our state-of-the-art learning labs, we are not only addressing the need for skilled educators but also inspiring the next generation of early childhood education professionals. Our commitment is to ensure that every student is well-prepared to enter the workforce and make a significant impact in the field of education.”
