Guadalupe Brewery Tap House, located in downtown Vista, is hosting a reception for their current artist whose work is on display at the Tap House – Julia Martinez. The reception will be Friday, September 20, starting at 6:00.
Julia Martinez was born and raised in Riverside, CA and grew up looking for ways to get out of her hometown. She explored corporate America post-MBA and knew something was missing that could not be found outside of herself. Her creative spirit needed an outlet.
Now based in San Diego, painting has become her voice as an empowered woman. She uses a variety of media showcasing the contrast between dark and light. “My works are inspired by the women in my family, ancestors, culture, generational strength and pain, and I especially enjoy creating pieces that help me work through past and present challenges in life to nurture others, my soul, and the universe.”
She is currently working towards her graduate degree in Art Therapy, focusing on children, to help them express themselves and work through issues in their lives through art modalities.
