On Sunday, October 1, 2023, at approximately 11:35 p.m, deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station responded to a radio call of a fight near the intersection of North Santa Fe Avenue and East California Avenue in Vista.
Upon arrival in the 200 block of East California Avenue, deputies located an 18-year-old male on the ground suffering from apparent trauma to his upper body. Life saving measures were immediately initiated by deputies until paramedics and fire department personnel arrived on scene. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation. The identity of the victim is known but being withheld at this time. Based on information gathered so far, this appears to be an isolated incident. Currently, there is no suspect information. The motivation and circumstances are still under investigation.

Investigación de Homicidio – Vista
Hombre muere a causa de heridas.
El Domingo 1 de Cctubre de 2023, aproximadamente a las 11:35 p.m., los oficiales del Vista Sheriff’s Station respondieron a una llamada de radio de una pelea cerca de la intersección de North Santa Fe Avenue y East California Avenue en Vista.
Al llegar a la cuadra 200 de East California Avenue, los oficiales localizaron a un hombre de 18 años en el suelo que sufría un aparente traumatismo en la parte superior del cuerpo. Los oficiales iniciaron inmediatamente medidas para salvar vidas hasta que los paramédicos y el personal del departamento de bomberos llegaron al lugar. La víctima fue trasladada a un hospital cercano donde lamentablemente sucumbió a sus heridas.
La Unidad de Homicidios del Alguacil respondió y asumió la responsabilidad de la investigación. Se conoce la identidad de la víctima, pero se mantiene oculta por el momento. Según la información recopilada hasta el momento, parece que se trata de un incidente aislado. Actualmente, no hay información sospechosa. La motivación y las circunstancias aún están bajo investigación.
