[Los Angeles, CA] – EPIC Entertainment Group, renowned for crafting extraordinary live experiences, has once again brought holiday magic to the iconic Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California. Returning for the fourth consecutive year, EPIC is lighting up the season with the dazzling “Lights, Camera, Hollywood” installation, which celebrates the 65th anniversary of Some Like It Hot, the Marilyn Monroe classic partially filmed at the historic hotel.
“Our continuing partnership with the Hotel del Coronado allows us to bring the holiday season to life in a way that honors its historic charm while captivating modern audiences,” shared Steve Sheldon, co-founder of EPIC Entertainment Group. “The chance to design experiences that showcase the hotel’s iconic features, like the century-old Norfolk Island Pines, is a testament to our shared commitment to storytelling and creating unforgettable moments for guests.”
This year’s light -show boasts a 12-minute spectacular that illuminates the hotel’s towering 100+ year-old Norfolk Island Pines on the Founders Lawn. These towering trees were made famous in 1904 as the world’s first electrically lit outdoor Christmas tree, and EPIC has brought them to life once again in this enchanting experience. Featuring over 75,000 shimmering lights choreographed to lively holiday music, the display is captivating guests with its breathtaking illuminations and concludes with a magical finale of snow flurries.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, EPIC Entertainment group is credited for bringing to life the 12-foot-tall replica of the hotel’s signature red turret, adorned with holiday lights, and serves as the centerpiece of a Victorian-inspired lounge and bar area. Guests can relax in elegant seating while enjoying seasonal beverages and an unobstructed view of the dazzling light show. The bar will be open on select dates, including Nov. 22-24, Nov. 29-30, Dec. 1, Dec. 4-8, Dec. 13-15, and Dec. 20-Jan. 5.
Inside the hotel, EPIC’s expertise shines with awe-inspiring décor throughout the property. Guests are greeted in the historic lobby by a magnificent 22-ft Christmas tree featuring 10,000 amber lights and 2,000 ornaments—a tribute to the hotel’s filmmaking legacy and its connection to Some Like It Hot. More than 20 themed Christmas trees, lush garlands, and oversized ornaments decorate the grounds.
