CHICO, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos senior Jaime Jacob has been honored as the 2019-20 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Championship Scholar, announced by the league office on Friday.

Jacob, a senior from Encinitas, is not only tops in the classroom, but on the course. The three-time CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Year and back-to-back WGCA All-American first team honoree paced the CCAA and closed the spring as one of five Division II women to average under-par scoring this season. She closed the year with three individual medalist honors as the Cougars earned five team titles in six stroke-play events.

In the classroom, Jacob keeps the league’s highest GPA among women’s golfers as she majors in Business Administration. A two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection, Jacob is a repeat CCAA Championship Scholar, also earning top honors at the inaugural 2017-18 CCAA Women’s Golf Championships.

Now in its third season, the CCAA Championship Scholar Award recognizes the academic and athletic achievement of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also excelling in the classroom.

The Championship Scholar Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the final CCAA championship site in each conference-sponsored sport. For the spring of 2020, all participating student-athletes in each sport will receive consideration for the award.
