SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos women’s golfer Jaime Jacob snagged her third career Star of the Month honor by the San Diego Sports Association on Monday.
For the second consecutive year, Jacob was named an April Star of the Month honoree for the amateur level. She also received the honor last October after winning the CSUSM Fall classic and tallying a 6-under 66 for the lowest round in program history.
Jacob defended her CCAA individual medalist crown last month after carding a final round 2-under 69 to finish with an 1-over 214. The junior from Encinitas collected her second CCAA Golfer of the Year honor after posting a team-low 72.57 average.
Jacob finished in the top 10 in all tournaments featuring two rounds or more this season. She shot par or lower in 11 of her 21 rounds so far this season.
The CSUSM women’s golf team will compete at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Palm Beach, Florida, beginning on Tuesday morning.
