CHICO, Calif. – For the third time this season and 10th time in her career, Cal State San Marcos’ Jaime Jacob reigns as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Golfer of the Week, this time for Oct. 16-22.

Jacob, a senior from Encinitas, took home runner-up individual honors after firing a 1-under 143 to finish one stroke out of the lead at the DII West Region Preview held at The Club at La Costa in Carlsbad. Jacob was one of two golfers to shoot even par or better in the two-round tournament featuring six squads ranked in the GolfStat Top 25.

This is the eye-popping 10th conference weekly honor for the back-to-back CCAA Golfer of the Year, 2018-19 CCAA Female Athlete of the Year and 2019 NCAA Division II Individual Champion.

Jacob rolled in a tournament-best 28 pars and carded an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole during Monday’s round. She paced Cal State San Marcos to a team title as the Cougars claimed a 10-stroke victory over West Texas A&M, their closest competitors in the event.

Along with Jacob’s second-place tally, sophomore Breann Horn placed third and senior Savannah Magallon finished sixth in the wire-to-wire finish. Cal State San Marcos has now earned the title in three of their four fall events in 2019.

The Cougars begin their winter break, returning to the links at the San Diego State Lamkin Invitational on Feb. 10-11.
