Des Moines, Iowa, February 24, 2025 – The San Diego Clippers (9-11) defeated the Iowa Wolves (4-19),123-116.
The first quarter was a back-and-forth battle, featuring four lead changes, before the San Diego Clippers managed to edge ahead with a three-point lead, 28-25. D.J. Carton led the charge with six points for the Clippers, as their balanced offense saw five other players contribute four or more points and the team maintained perfect ball control with no turnovers in the first quarter. Midway through the second quarter, the Iowa Wolves reclaimed the lead and extended it to a nine-point advantage. The Clippers surged in the second quarter, with Patrick Baldwin Jr. delivering a flawless 14-point performance on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting, lifting the team to a two-point lead at halftime, 58-56. At halftime, Jordan Miller supported Baldwin’s scoring surge with 12 points and five rebounds, while Jaelen House provided a strong bench boost, contributing nine points to the effort. The Clippers came out firing in the third quarter, pushing their lead to seven points behind the balanced scoring of Braxton Key and Kai Jones. However, the Wolves quickly answered back, closing the gap, and tying the game at 87 heading into the fourth quarter. The Clippers responded and held onto a 10-point lead entering the final two minutes. Clutch free throws by Jaelen House sealed the Clippers 123-116 victory over the Iowa Wolves for their second straight win.
Seven Clippers scored in double figures, with Jaelen House leading the way, posting a career-high 24 points, six assists, and three steals. Jordan Miller continued his stellar play, finishing just shy of a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. Since the All-Star break, Miller has been on fire, averaging 30 points on 64.7% shooting from the field, 47% from beyond the arc, and adding 5.6 rebounds per game. Kai Jones contributed 16 points and six rebounds, while Cam Christie and Braxton Key each scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds. Patrick Baldwin Jr. added 16 points and six rebounds, and D.J. Carton scored 10 points, a season-high seven assists, and four steals. As a team, the Clippers shot 50% from the field in both games against the Wolves.
The shorthanded Iowa Wolves were led by El Ellis’ 33 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds. Skylar Mays added 20 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
