On September 12, 2018, Council Member Joe Green met at Lowe’s Pavilion in Alta Vista Gardens, with Miles Sweeney VFFA President. Miles presented Council Member Green with the VFFA Local 4107’s official letter of endorsement for his 2018 campaign for Mayor of Vista. The letter spoke of his growth while in office, willingness to listen, and public safety voting record. Council Member Green said, “I’m not looking for endorsements from politicians, or outside political organizations. I strictly want to be endorsed by the citizens of Vista, Local business owners, and local stakeholder organizations. Partisan politics have no place in city government. I’m beyond humbled and honored to receive this endorsement from My Vista Fire Fighters.”
This is the endorsement that he received from the Vista Firefighters Local 4107:
‘After careful consideration and deliberation, it is with great honor that we, the Vista Fire Fighters Association, stand united and proudly endorse your Candidacy for Mayor of the City of Vista.
When you were elected to Vista City Council in 2016, you immediately took steps to reach out and educate yourself on the job and service our firefighters and paramedics provide daily. You personally met with our Association leadership, did ride-alongs on emergency calls, listened to our members concerns, and supported our charitable events.
Your professional growth, steadfast leadership, willingness to listen, as well as, public safety voting record and personal service and commitment to your constituents have made you the most sensible candidate for mayor. The Vista Fire Fighters Association supports your vision and values, and with great enthusiasm, stand with you in your mayoral campaign.’
