(Oceanside, CA) May 2026 – Two Oceanside women have teamed up for a true crime podcast entitled “Coastal Crimes.” The podcast focuses on crimes in North San Diego County, particularly but not limited to, the coastal area.

Six years ago, Kristi Hawthorne, Director of the Oceanside Historical Society, began what has become a popular blog entitled “Histories and Mysteries.” She generated national attention with a story she broke about the unsolved murder of Ray Davis, an Oceanside cab driver who was killed with similarities to the Zodiac murders in Northern California. Her story even attracted the attention of Tom Voight, a renowned expert on the Zodiac Killer.

Due to her research and investigative skills as a historian, Hawthorne was approached to do a podcast based on her writings. She immediately knew she wanted North County community personality and media contributor Porsche Locker as her co-host!

Locker is a North County San Diego community storyteller, media contributor, and co-host of the “Coastal Crimes” podcast. Known for her strong local connections and engaging personality, she brings thoughtful commentary, humor, and community perspective to the podcast’s true crime storytelling. Locker is also the creator behind “Life with Porsche Marie,” a lifestyle and community-focused platform highlighting restaurants, real-life experiences, and everyday lifestyle content throughout North County San Diego.

In 2025 the two podcasters did a live stage podcast at the Avo Theater in Vista, California, uncovering the body count at one of the most haunted places in San Diego County: The forgotten Buena Vista Cemetery in Oceanside. The Hunter Steakhouse was built on this graveyard, with dozens of bodies still on site!

Last month an in depth look at the Netflix series “Killer Sally” in podcast entitled “Killer Sally, The Documentary- What Netflix Got Wrong” was released as the women deconstruct Sally’s self-defense claims.

Just last week another podcast was released diving into the comparison of the Ray Davis murder, the taunting of police and continued threats by the murder, and the killing of Paul Stine, a cabdriver in San Francisco by the Zodiac Killer. “Was Ray Davis The First Victim of the Zodiac Killer?”

Soon to be released is a 10-episode podcast on the murder-for-hire of Carlo Troaini by his wife Laura and 5 Marines who called themselves the Gremlins. It’s a shocking story with both tantalizing and disturbing details.

Locker brings the color commentary, the questions and often the humor to help tell the stories, which at times can be brutal. AND, while telling these stories Locker herself has personal connections to two of the murders covered by “Coastal Crimes” … one with the Killer Sally murder and then with the murder of Marine Sgt. Carlo Troiani!

Locker and Hawthorne are excited and committed to bringing more true crime insight and hope to focus on a number of unsolved murders, including the kidnapping and murder of 7-year-old Leticia Hernandez in 1989.

The “Coastal Crimes” podcast is made possible through the support of community partners including SERVPRO Team Araya, with production support provided by A Different Day Radio.
