MainStreet Oceanside Announces ‘Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest Winners

Oceanside, Calif. — Dec. 7, 2021: In the spirit of the holiday season, Oceanside held the ‘Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest. The contest is part of ‘Tis the Season to Shop Local, a fun, distinctly local holiday celebration inviting our community to explore Oceanside retail establishments and to shop local through Sunday, Dec. 12. A total of 14 businesses throughout Oceanside participated by decorating their shop windows and storefronts to the theme of ‘Tis the Season. A panel of local judges viewed the holiday displays and have selected the following winners:

First place: Carrillo Pottery
309 S. Coast Highway
Find eclectic and handmade decor and art by local artists in this new Downtown shop. Choose among a huge selection of high-fired glazed pottery, Mexican and Talavera pottery, concrete items, unique furniture, art, succulents and much more.

Second place: Reap & Sow
1830 S. Coast Highway
This lifestyle apothecary eco-boutique is an amazing one-stop shop for thoughtfully curated goods for holistic wellness and planet-loving people. Complete any or all of their Oceanside Holiday Challenge missions for a chance to win prizes!

Third place (tie): Seaside Flowers
1002 S. Coast Highway
Stop in Saturday, Dec. 11, for their in-store Succulent or Garden Basket Make and Take at 1 p.m. Complete any of their four Oceanside Holiday Challenge missions by Sunday for a chance to win prizes!

Third place (tie): Sugar on the Glow
212 N. Freeman St.
This new skincare studio specializes in sugaring hair removal, waxing and corrective skincare. Using all natural ingredients, the specialists strive to ensure a healthy and comfortable experience for clients.

“Our Oceanside shops are full of holiday spirit and are lighting up the season,” said Mayor Esther Sanchez. “Congratulations to the winners! Stop, shop and enjoy!”

Thank you to all ‘Tis the Season to Shop Local participating locations who decorated their storefronts this year and competed for a total of $550 in cash prizes.

There are five more days to shop local in Oceanside this holiday season and get rewarded. Through Sunday, complete any of more than 140 mobile scavenger hunt missions for a chance to win local prizes — including taking a picture in front of one of the Window Decorating Contest winners for 2 points and making a purchase at one of the winning businesses for 4 points — in the Oceanside Holiday Challenge.
