The Oceanside community has come together to support and provide aid to the thousands of displaced California residents due to the recent wildfires in the Los Angeles area, which have caused significant devastation, with the death toll rising to 24 and over 10,000 structures destroyed.
MainStreet Oceanside (MSO) has opened up our meeting room to help King & Donna, a nonprofit serving Los Angeles and Oceanside unsheltered and displaced individuals, receive, sort, and distribute much-needed supplies and clothing to the LA fire evacuees.
Evacuees: Anyone displaced and staying in the Oceanside area or North County is encouraged to come to the MSO office between 10 am and 4 pm on Tuesday, January 14, through Friday, January 17, and pick up hygiene kits, baby supplies, clothing, nonperishables, and more.
Volunteers: Email volunteer coordinator, Sharon Elwood, at sharon@mainstreetoceanside.com for volunteer opportunities.
Donations: All items and NEW and unopened packs of sacks and underwear will be accepted. No other clothing will be accepted at this time. Follow @showmeyourdonnas on Instagram for an announcement of when other clothing items will be accepted.
