On July 9, 2020 there was a special board meeting held by the Vista Unified School District. The evenings discussion was on the opening of school for 20,000 students. The consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic traditional school model is no longer with us. Rosemary Smithfield was elected to the Vista Unified School District Board of Education in 2016. She spent 30 years as a classroom teacher, the last 23 were with the Vista Unified School District. She lives in Jeffries Ranch and represents Trustee Area 1, which includes the northern portion of our district. All four of her children attended Vista schools and graduated from Vista High School.
