The results are in, and I want to thank you, whether I earned your vote or not, for the confidence that the residents of the City of Vista have placed in me in electing me to serve as your next Mayor.
I want to thank VUSD School Board Trustee Cipriano Vargas for the good race he ran for Mayor. He called me recently to congratulate me on my success in the election. That was very classy and much appreciated.
Please know that I feel a profound sense of responsibility to you, even more than I felt as your Councilman, to provide leadership that makes a lasting difference in the lives of Vista’s residents and especially, to serve our seniors and our children, the next generation of Vista’s residents.
As promised, my term as your Mayor will focus on improving public safety, finding new, meaningful solutions to solve the causes and symptoms of homelessness in our community and our region, and on creating new parks for future generations to enjoy and making Vista Safer and Cleaner.
I can’t do it without you though. I need your suggestions and input and I pledge to reach out to you frequently to seek your input.
Most of all, I want to work to bring all Vistans together as we work to unify our community.
